Like much of our staff, I also have strong ties with UNC and North Carolina in general. I’m from a little town in the mountains of North Carolina called West Jefferson. I graduated from UNC in 2004 and worked in the division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the UNC school of medicine until March of 2006, when Doctor Gush convinced me that we could change the standards and expectations of pediatric primary care. That’s when we started Village Pediatrics.
As a native North Carolinian, I take great pride in our state. I graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham before attending UNC, and I have strong interests in computers, math, science, and history. I love a good challenge, and was immediately excited to help Dr. Gush build her patient focused medical home.
Learn about the Model
The medical home model in place at Village Pediatrics revolves around efficiency. Not only do I administer this lovely website, but I also provide most of the IT support here in the office. In addition, I file all the insurance claims and do all the accounting. This is only possible with the state of the art electronic solutions we have in place. Our Pediatricians can spend more time with each child because we have the lowest overhead in the business. In 2006, this was just a dream. Today I can promise you it’s a reality. Come see how technology improves the quality and value of primary care pediatrics.
